Acceptable?

Daniel 2:1-3
And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him. Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

I believe that in life, we are born aware of the presence of God. In Romans 1:20 it says “For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen..” In this verse it proves that in some way, you will be shown Christ. After we are shown Christ, we have a decision to make; we can either follow him or we can choose to not follow him. It’s that simple. I believe that there is a constant war that is happening for your soul in the heavenly realm and the devil will do anything to have you!! At the same time, God loves you enough that he did die for you and that death still applies to your life today!!

The king in the scripture is at a place where he is trying to please the people and win their hearts, for he has only been in rule for two years. The number “2” symbolizes division in the scriptures. So it’s an indication that his spirit was at a place where he didn’t know if he wanted to serve God or not. This is the place in our life where we have to take dominion and choose that we will serve Jesus regardless of what anyone else says! In these seasons, we will be influenced to do the “norm”, the things that society finds acceptable. But you have to do the thing God finds acceptable! Don’t give in to the lies or the “cool thing.” You’re worth more than that!! And you see in the text from where “his spirit was troubled.” Get in your word, get in community and don’t fall off this path!! It’s a hard one, but it’s worth it!!

The rest of the text goes on to describe how, instead of turning to God, he did the thing that was “acceptable” in society and he turned to the magicians and sorcerers. In this season where his spirit was divided, he was not secure enough in his faith, so he did the thing everyone else wanted him to do and called on the world to solve his problems.. Let me tell you this, the world will not solve a problem that is rooted in your spirit!! Alcohol doesn’t cure depression!! Drugs don’t feel the void in your life; and porn doesn’t replace love!! Stop seeking the things of the world for something only God can solve!!
